Following the birth of my third child in 2023, once I’d finished breastfeeding I realised it was time to prioritise me and to look after my health so I could be the best mum possible for my family.
Why did I choose LighterLife?
Before my friend introduced me to LighterLife back in 2009, it felt like I was always on a diet, trying to eat less, cutting out carbs, etc. But after following the LighterLife programme I saw a massive change in me. I loved all the Foodpacks and it was my go-to plan.
Then I moved to Canada in 2017 and had to stop until I came back to the UK in 2022 and had my daughter the following year. When I went to Superdrug to stock up on Foodpacks again, I realised LighterLife had stopped selling them this way because there was no way to include the Mentor support, which is such an important part of their successful weight loss programme.
So, I got back in touch with my lovely Mentor, Hazel, and started my journey again. And I’ve had massive success and feel brilliant – so I aint stopping here.
Mentoring and Mindfulness
My Mentor’s weekly CBT Mindfulness sessions were so powerful and engaging, they were such a help in recognising those moments that trigger you to grab unnecessary foods. They really helped me think, and learn where my boundaries are.
The online meetings with the accountability weight check in every Monday were great, and being able to listen and talk to others on the same page as me was amazing, we all supported each other. Hazel’s WhatApp group and the Facebook Lives really encouraged me to keep going.
Following the plan
I started TotalFast again at the beginning of May 2024 and by December 2024 I’d lost 15kg. So, I’m going to keep going until I reach my goal, when I plan to move onto the Management programme.
I found the first 4 days on plan the hardest and had a headache as well. But after that, everything kicked in and I felt full of energy. I actually call it the vitamin boost diet because it’s giving my body everything it needs.
My favourite Foodpacks are the Bars, they’re so easy to grab on the go. I love the Salted Caramel Bar, and also the Spicy Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup and the Blueberry Pancakes.
What’s changed for me now that I’ve lost my weight?
My confidence has grown a lot, I’m feeling amazing in my new body, I’m wearing more colourful and sexier clothes, and I’m more confident in front of other people.
I have far less pain in my lower back, and a lot more energy to run around with my 3 kids as well.
What have I learned?
I’ve learned about mind games and how to separate physical and emotional hunger. For me, this is a life journey that fits me so well. I love all the Foodpacks and the programme keeps me going and feeling amazing, both physically and mentally.
What I’d say to anyone thinking about starting LighterLife.
Try it for at least a month and stick to it. You’ll be amazed and I’m sure you’ll continue.
