Nick Bick – Lost 23lbs

“Since going on the diet I feel so much better and I’ve had to buy a whole new wardrobe”

When London jeweller Nick, saw the scales register his weight at over the 18 stone mark he knew he had to do something about his weight. At risk of developing type 2 diabetes he signed up to LighterLife and documented his journey for ITV’s Money Saving Good Health show. He explains:

“Before I joined LighterLife I was eating around 3,000-4,000 calories a day. I’d gotten in to the habit of eating something sweet after I’d eaten something savoury. In a year I’d put on around five stone. I didn’t feel healthy and I didn’t look or feel right.”

“When I found out about a TV show putting the most popular diets to the test, to discover which were the best value £1 for lb, I put myself forward. I followed the LighterLife Total plan where the Very Low Calorie Diet combined with the weekly group counselling, helped me lose weight and retrained me to understand my eating habits and develop better ones. I followed the plan, along with other dieters who were trialling different plans, for 28 days.”

I’ve had to buy a whole new wardrobe, as my clothes are literally falling off me

“When I started the diet I had the mindset to succeed. I’ve been out with friends and family and clients and entertaining, but didn’t break the diet once. Since I started the motivation to go back to the gym has been amazing. The LighterLife diet has inspired me to start training. I feel so much better and I’ve had to buy a whole new wardrobe, as my clothes are literally falling off me.”

“When the show revealed that I was in top position and that LighterLife was far the cheapest diet £ per lb, I was delighted. Really, really delighted. Each of the pounds I lost cost £14 each.”

“Over a month on not only have I kept the weight off, but I’ve also lost another half a stone.”

When it came to diets on ITV’s Save Money: Good Health, Dr Ranj Singh explained: “It’s not just about eating it’s about how you think about your food as well and actually that initial weight loss, that positive feeling that you get, can be the motivator to continue your change in behaviour.”

Nick lost 23lbs* on the LighterLife Total plan. He now thinks very differently about the food he eats and has changed his eating behaviours for long term weight management. If you’ve got some questions you want to ask Nick about his experience you can contact him on Twitter @MrNickBick.
