LighterLife has changed how I see myself

I started my LighterLife journey because I knew something had to change – not just for my physical health, but for my mental wellbeing too.

My self-esteem was on the floor, and the way I felt about myself had slowly chipped away at my confidence over time. So many things had become difficult – I was breathless walking short distances, struggling with joint pain and felt too self-conscious to go swimming. I missed the sociable, fashion and beauty-obsessed me I used to be.

Before LighterLife, it was just the same dieting cycle again and again

I’d tried everything over the years – every slimming club and fad diet you can think of. And I tried them so many times. I’d lose a few pounds, then it would all creep back on. Nothing stuck. Nothing really made me think differently about food or about myself.

Why LighterLife felt different from the start

What drew me to LighterLife was the CBT and mindfulness approach and how easy the plan is to follow – it’s fabulous when you’re a busy young mum who’s always on the go. I didn’t have to count Calories or cook complicated meals. I just had to follow the TotalFast plan and trust it.

The first few days were tough, I won’t lie. But after that, I instantly started to feel better. My body, my whole digestive system, my energy, my mindset – everything began to improve. And I quickly found my favourite Foodpacks – Banana Porridge, Vegetable Soup and the Double Chocolate Bar, absolute heaven!

Support and friendship

The real magic of LighterLife for me has been the Zoom group sessions and my fabulous Mentor, Georgina. The groups feel like a safe, wholesome space where you learn from each other and lift each other up. Within just a month, I felt completely at ease – it was like chatting with friends. Georgina has created something truly special, and I’m still learning from her every week.

Outside the sessions, the support continued. Whether it was an inspiring morning message from Georgina or encouragement through her fantastic Facebook page, I never felt alone. Our group’s WhatsApp chat room has also been an incredible support system – I’ve benefited so much from it.

The old me is back and loving life

I’ve dropped four dress sizes and lost so much weight that people don’t recognise me! I’m walking for miles without the dreaded backache or being breathless. My BMI has come right down, my blood pressure has improved, and I feel like me again – the version of me who loves clothes shopping and socialising. It’s brilliant being back in jeans, choosing dresses for a night out and having the confidence enough to go swimming again!

It all started with my mindset

Working with the CBT and mindfulness techniques in the group sessions is how everything begins to change. Being in my group was such an insightful experience – you really evaluate yourself and discover how your thoughts, emotions and actions are all linked. Obesity doesn’t start with food. It starts in the mind, and LighterLife tackles this so brilliantly.

Thinking about joining? Here’s my honest advice

Do it. You will absolutely not regret it. It’s as simple as watching the days go by and the pounds coming off. When you join, be patient, stay consistent, and don’t beat yourself up over one bad choice – you’ll have the support to learn from it and keep going. LighterLife changes more than just your weight. It changes how you see yourself.
