19kg weight loss with LighterLife – Jeanette’s story

I needed to get healthy – and fast!

I’d been carrying far too much weight for too long. Not only was I increasingly uncomfortable in my clothes, but my health was beginning to suffer. My blood pressure and cholesterol were both far too high and it was becoming very clear that they weren’t going to improve unless I lost some serious weight. There really wasn’t any more time to waste.

Although I’d tried all the usual slimming clubs, I’d not had any success, and that was so frustrating. It was actually my step-daughter who suggested LighterLife – she had done the programme herself and was more than happy to recommend it, thanks to the great results she’d had, and how quickly she’d seen them.

Amazing support from my first day

I decided that if I was going to do LighterLife, I was going to do it properly, so I got in touch with my Mentor, Judy, and took out a 12-week subscription, which gave me my Foodpacks and included a free place in her weekly closed-group sessions. So that’s how I started my journey.

I have to admit that I found my first week on the TotalFast plan hard, but I kept going because I knew it was going to pay off in the end – after all, I’d seen how well my step-daughter had done. What made such a difference was Judy being there for me from that very first day. My family and friends were also very supportive right from the beginning.

When those first few days were over, I felt fine, and seeing the weight come off every single week was incredibly motivating. It was lovely to look in the mirror and see myself visibly shrinking. I followed the plan to the last letter – just my four Foodpacks every day. The Porridge FastPot, Vegetable Soup and Chocolate Mug Cake soon became my favourites.

My new relationship with food

Judy’s online group sessions have been massively helpful. The CBT and mindfulness topics we’ve been working with each week – not just on TotalFast but now I’m in Management – are helping me create a whole new relationship with food.

I’ve learned to pay attention to what I eat and drink. instead of just eating mindlessly, I now ask myself, “Do I really need or want this, or is there a better option?” As a result, I’m eating much more healthily than I have in a long time and I hardly ever touch alcohol.

Better health, more energy, loads of confidence!

I’m now three stone lighter, and my life is so much better, not least because I’ve got much more confidence. It’s lovely being able to wear jeans that are two sizes smaller than my old ones – I’ve even had to buy smaller underwear for my new, slimmer shape.

It’s fantastic to feel healthy again. My blood pressure and cholesterol are back to normal levels, and I can walk so much more, and for far longer, without getting out of breath. And I’ve got the energy to enjoy playing with my grandchildren without feeling shattered afterwards, which is wonderful.
