Over the last couple of years, I’d tried quite a few times to remove unhealthy food from the house but that never lasted more than a week and then it was back to square one. And I wanted to lose weight for my overall physical and mental health.
Why did I choose LighterLife?
I realised how easy it would be for me to just stick with 4 Foodpacks a day that gave me all my necessary nutrition. No cooking, no groceries, no meal planning, so no excuses and no complications.
I also saw it as a great way to cleanse myself of all the unhealthy habits that brought me here.
Mentoring and Mindfulness
My Mentor, Tony, and his WhatsApp group have provided a sense of support throughout. And it’s been great to be able to pause and reflect on some of the bad habits that brought me here, and to understand them so they don’t cause me to fall back again in the future.
I’ve definitely benefited greatly from family, friends, and work knowing about this journey as they’ve been helping me stay accountable.
Tony’s WhatsApp group and the LighterLife’s Facebook group also helped when there were more challenging days, as I could ask questions and read other people’s stories for inspiration.
Following the plan
During my first week on TotalFast I had a lot more energy. So much so that I actually wanted to do things at the weekend, which made for a productive and fulfilling change. And I was able to resist the cookies and pizza that showed up at work as well!
I think the 12-week TotalFast VLCD Subscription is a godsend, and my favourite Foodpacks are the Nut Fudge Bar, Chocolate Raisin Bar, Mango & Passion Fruit Shake, and Apple & Cinnamon Porridge. But I found all the Foodpacks really tasty, easy to make, and convenient to carry around on the go.
I started on the programme on 2 September 2024 and 4 weeks later, by 30 September, had dropped 8kg / 1st 4lb.
What’s changed for me now that I’ve lost my weight?
I feel energized again! My mental health has improved, I’ve been more active, and I feel a lot more positive again.
I really felt I wasn’t living life before but now I have more energy. I want to do more and look forward to things.
I’d been wanting to buy new clothes for a while but I was punishing myself until I lost the weight. I’m getting there, which makes me very excited, and I’ve already bought 2 nice pairs of shoes. And, as my clothes already feel a bit less tight, I can stop blaming the dryer for shrinking them…
What have I learned?
It’s been a great time to reflect on what brought me here and how I can improve for the future.
What I’d say to anyone thinking about starting LighterLife.
Be honest with yourself – no lies or excuses. It’s important you realise why you are where you are
Take care of yourself so you can be in the moment when life throws you the good and the bad.
LighterLife isn’t a “quick and easy” weight loss programme, it’s about you learning why you overeat and how you can make the change for a healthier lifestyle.
