LighterLife Counsellors

I wasn't always a Weight-Management Counsellor
Before becoming a LighterLife
Weight-Management Counsellor I worked with various food companies
in the UK and abroad. I enjoyed being part of a team and was
fortunate to work with several great team leaders over the
years.
What I really enjoyed was working with a
wide variety of people. I discovered first hand that
what can be achieved as a group is, for most of us, much greater
than what we can achieve alone.
But as my career developed the hours seemed to
get longer, the pressures greater, and the job satisfaction less.
As the years went by I found myself exercising less and eating
more. I either thought I would 'fix' my weight and take action (but
probably not today!) or that 'being big' was just something I would
have to put up with for the rest of my life.
I joined LighterLife when I saw the remarkable
results a work colleague was having after only a few weeks of
starting the programme.
I felt if he could do it I certainly could
And that's just what happened. I went on to
lose 15 inches around my waist and just under half my total weight.
(I was by that time carrying a lot of extra baggage!)
The programme worked for me because the weight
loss was quick and that was very motivational. I never
felt I was taking on the challenge alone and
I found the other members of the group and meeting them
every week a very positive experience. And last but not least
the Counsellor enabled me to understand much better why I'd
been eating more than I needed, so I could work towards changing my
eating habits for the long-term.
I decided to train as a LighterLife Weight
Management Counsellor because I wanted to help, support and
encourage people to achieve what I had for myself in terms of
weight loss and weight management.
I really enjoy the time spent with clients
Each client is different so it always feels
challenging in a positive way. As with any business, I do spend a
lot of time on the phone, writing emails, and doing back up
administration – but this is more than compensated for when I see
how clients transform their lives, improve their life chances,
and in doing so inspire other members of their group (myself
included) to maintain what they have achieved.
