I hid how much I ate - my family and friends had no idea what I was eating
I took comfort in chocolate and junk food. I’d see a pastry in the delicatessen window and treat myself. In the evenings, I’d cook for the family and sit down with everyone else. They had no idea of the actual amount I was consuming.
As I got heavier I didn’t want to go out because I didn’t want people to see me.
Since losing weight, my confidence has flourished and I have become more assertive. I am able to say ‘no’ without feeling guilty and no longer do things I don’t want to, only to complain afterwards.
I am myself again.
Don’t hide.
