Terms and Conditions
SUPPLY OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TERMS & CONDITIONS (by LighterLife UK Limited)
Please read these product and services terms and conditions carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law and set out the terms under which we make the products and/or services available to you (excluding weight-management counselling sessions and sessions for personal development).
These terms and conditions apply where you have chosen to purchase products and/or services either direct from LighterLife UK Limited (‘LighterLife’) or from a Counsellor at a LighterLife Centre.
References to ‘I’ ‘we’ or ‘our’ or ‘us’ refer to LighterLife or to a Counsellor where you are ordering the products and/or services from them, and ‘you’ and ‘your’ ‘yours’ and ‘yourself’ refer to you as the participant on the LighterLife Programme, and ‘Counsellor’ refers to a weight management counsellor licensed by LighterLife UK Ltd. References to a LighterLife Centre refer to a premises operated by a Counsellor or LighterLife.
NOTHING IN THIS AGREEMENT AFFECTS YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS
Please note that the prices stated by us for the products and services supplied are confirmed at the time of your order. All prices are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable where applicable. The price of the items does not include any delivery charge which will be charged at the rates applicable at the date of your order and which will be notified to you by LighterLife or the Counsellor at the time of your order.
Prices are liable to change at any time, but price changes will not affect your orders that we have confirmed to you in writing.
If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item or there is a delay in supplying the items to you, we will not be liable to you. Although we will try to service all your orders, an order of large quantities of a particular product line can only be fulfilled at our discretion. Full terms and conditions of this supply are available on the LighterLife web-site at www.lighterlife.com/choice.
Your order is an offer to buy from us. There will be no contract of any kind between you and us unless and until payment has been received. Nothing that we say or do will amount to any acceptance of that offer until we have received payment. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply the products and/or services to you without giving any reason. At the moment that the products and/or services are paid for (and not before), a contract will be made between you and us.
We reserve the right to refuse orders from businesses or from individuals whom we consider are ordering our products for commercial or other non-domestic concerns.
You can have your products delivered or can collect them from your chosen LighterLife Centre. For delivered products, you will need to designate the address to which you want your order dispatched. We will not be responsible for orders that are not received through no fault of our own, and cannot be held responsible for any delay in delivery. The costs of postage/carriage will be added to your order.
- Returns of perishable items
We hope you will be happy with your purchase, and we take care to ensure the products are provided to you in good condition. However, should you feel it necessary to return an item, we aim to make the returns process as simple as possible.
In the case of perishable items, if the products received are damaged and you notify us within fourteen days of delivery, we will ask for them to be returned, and we will replace your damaged items. These terms will apply to any replaced products.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
- Use of Foodpacks
Foodpacks are only available to persons aged at least 16 years of age. You should follow any instructions for consuming the Foodpacks which are issued in writing by us with your order or which are displayed on the LighterLife web-site at www.lighterlife.com.
For LighterLife weight-loss and weight-management plans follow the Foodpack usage advice in the LighterLife written materials provided when you started your plan. LighterLife Fast customers are advised to consume four Foodpacks on each of their two Fast days per week ensuring that they are evenly spaced throughout the day
The Foodpacks are supplied to you and are expected to be used in conjunction with LighterLife terms and conditions. The Foodpacks are supplied on a strictly not for re-sale basis, and should not be advertised for re-sale.
- Cancellation and Changes to your Order
You can cancel any of your current orders prior to fulfilment by us.
Payment for products and/or services must be made in advance by credit or debit card. Your authority for payment must be given at the time of placing your order, and you will be charged at the time when your order is confirmed. Payments made directly at a LighterLife Centre must be made in advance by cash, cheque, credit or debit card at the LighterLife Centre’s discretion. You can normally pay by Mastercard or Visa credit card, Maestro or Visa debit card.
Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant products and services.
These Terms and Conditions are personal to you and cannot be assigned by you; do not confer any rights to any third party; and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be decided only by the English courts.
If any of these Terms and Conditions is held by any court of competent authority to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, in whole or in part, this will not affect the validity of the remaining Terms and Conditions which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

- Data Protection
You agree to let us know of any changes to the Personal Data which you have provided to us in order that the information we hold is accurate and up to date. We reserve the right to terminate the Agreement if any of the information you have provided to Us is untrue or we have reason to believe that it may be so.

SUPPLY OF SESSIONS TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms set out the conditions on which your licensed Weight Management Counsellor for LighterLife UK Limited (‘Counsellor’) will provide weight-management counselling sessions and sessions for personal development.
References to ‘we’ or ‘our’ or ‘us’ or ‘Counsellor’ refer to a counsellor licensed by LighterLife, and ‘you’ and ‘your’ and ‘yours’ and ‘yourself’ refer to you as the participant in the LighterLife Session.
References to a ‘LighterLife Centre’ refer to premises operated by a Counsellor or LighterLife.
References to a ‘Session’ refers to a weight management counselling session or session for personal development. These can be delivered by telephone, on-line or face to face at your chosen LighterLife Centre.
The cost for each Session is normally £15 inclusive of VAT. Product and other services are supplied separately by your licensed weight management Counsellor or by LighterLife UK Limited. You can visit LighterLife’s web-site at www.lighterlife.com/choice for the terms and conditions of supply.
You are expected to attend and pay for each Session. In the case of weight management counselling sessions, our experience indicates that the support and feedback we provide at those Sessions can be beneficial in helping you achieve long term weight maintenance.
Your attendance at Sessions
Your place in each Session is reserved for you and is paid for each week. Should you book and pre-pay for a Session and then cancel at short notice, or not attend, then it is at the Counsellor’s discretion as to whether or not a replacement Session can be arranged for you at no additional cost.
Where you participate on-line we will issue you with an URL and a password to access this service.
Where you participate by telephone you will be provided with the relevant details to access this service.
The Sessions that you pay for are personal to you and cannot be transferred to any other person. When you participate by telephone we may ask you some security questions to confirm your identity.
The dates we publish for these Sessions may be subject to change where unavoidable circumstances arise. We cannot be held responsible for circumstances, or any delays, which are outside our reasonable control.
For so long as you comply with the terms and conditions of LighterLife you can purchase Products direct from your chosen LighterLife Centre or from LighterLife UK Limited.
Should you be unable to collect the Products yourself and do not want them posted to you, then they can be collected by someone you authorise on your behalf by arrangement with your chosen LighterLife Centre.
Prices for Sessions and LighterLife products and services are subject to change, and are in accordance with the supplier’s price list at the time you pay for your order. Any change to prices will not affect orders that we have confirmed in writing to you. Post and carriage for delivery of Products is at your cost, and VAT will be charged, where applicable.
Payment on-line or by telephone for Sessions and/or the purchase of products and services must be made in advance by credit or debit card. Payments made directly at a LighterLife Centre must be made in advance by cash, cheque, credit or debit card at the LighterLife Centre’s discretion. Our liability to you in connection with any order for products and services will not exceed the total price paid for the relevant items. Each order that you place will be a separate contract.
Our promises to you
We value you as a client and we will use reasonable care and skill in delivering the Sessions and supplying you with the Products and services.
Should your purchased product be received damaged please return it directly to the LighterLife Centre you purchased them from or to LighterLife UK Limited as applicable, and we will arrange to supply you with a replacement product and re-fund you reasonable postal costs that you may have incurred.
Your promises to us
When LighterLife’s protocol is to check your physiological and psychological wellbeing, you confirm that you have checked (or will check) carefully the Wellness Profile Form, that the information you have supplied is accurate and that you are in good health and are able to participate in the Programme(s) you have applied for. You acknowledge and confirm that:
- any questions concerning your health and your ability to participate in the Programme(s) have been discussed with your doctor, or will be discussed with your doctor, before you participate;
- You are responsible for your own health and will inform your doctor and your Counsellor and/or administrator at your LighterLife Centre or LighterLife UK Limited if you experience any changes in your health while you participate in the Programme(s);
- You will inform your Counsellor and/or administrator at your LighterLife Centre or LighterLife UK Limited of all prescription medications, non-prescription medications, diet aids, and supplements which you are taking, and any changes in dosage;
- You understand that none of LighterLife’s employees or LighterLife Counsellors are health care practitioners and cannot be expected to diagnose, recognise or treat individual health problems and no information or documentation provided by us should be considered to be medical advice or opinion;
- You will inform your Counsellor and/or administrator at your LighterLife Centre or LighterLife UK Limited of any doctor or health care professional directed diet or exercise modifications or restrictions;
- failure to follow the Programme(s) protocol and all the food and supplements recommended by your LighterLife Centre or LighterLife UK Limited may involve the risk of developing serious health complications; and
- You understand that none of the LighterLife Programme(s), food or supplements is intended for use by anyone under 16 years of age, pregnant women or those with medical conditions, and such people are encouraged to seek medical advice before embarking on any weight management Programme.
This agreement is personal between you and us, does not confer rights to any third party, and can only be changed or terminated in writing. Without affecting your rights this agreement can be assigned by LighterLife UK Ltd, and where this occurs, LighterLife UK Limited will notify you in writing. English law applies and any dispute will be decided only by English courts.
You acknowledge neither we nor anyone else have made any representation or promise upon which you relied that is not stated in this Agreement.
To the extent permitted under English law our liability shall be limited to any sums paid by you for
Programme membership (if any) and/or the product and services in question, as the case may be. Nothing in this Agreement shall be deemed to limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. In any event we shall not be liable to you for any indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of goodwill or loss of profit or lost opportunity.
You may terminate this agreement for any reason on giving us 30 days' written notice. We may terminate this agreement by written notice to you at any time if you fail to pay on time or do not comply with your obligations under this agreement.
