Weight-loss counselling
Weight-loss counselling is a central element
of the LighterLife weight-loss and weight-management programme. It
is delivered by a network of self-employed qualified LighterLife
Counsellors, who follow structured training and monitoring
programmes.
How does LighterLife weight-loss counselling work?
When you join the LighterLife Programme, you
visit your LighterLife Counsellor on a weekly basis for weight-loss
counselling, coaching and support to guide you through every step
of your weight-loss journey. During this group meeting, you will
learn to understand and deal with the feelings and situations that
may have led you becoming overweight in the first place. The
meetings are held in same-sex groups of between seven and 12, so
you will be with other people who are also trying to lose weight.
All LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellors
are carefully recruited and trained in all aspects of weight-loss
and weight management. Our specialised form of weight-loss
counselling uses tried-and-tested cognitive behavioural therapy
(CBT) and transactional analysis (TA) techniques, which help you
identify why you overeat and how to change your eating habits for
good. This addresses not just the physical symptoms of your weight
gain, but also the psychological and emotional causes.
Continuing your counselling sessions after the initial
weight-loss phase
Once you’ve reached
your desired healthy weight, you can join the LighterLife
Management Programme and continue to benefit from the support of
weekly group meetings and your Weight-Management Counsellor.
LighterLife weight-loss and weight-management
counselling can help you lose weight quickly and safely, whilst at
the same time teaching you how to maintain your weight-loss for
