Why LighterLife is different!

LighterLife is a fast, safe and effective way to lose weight. It is a unique weight-loss and weight-management programme designed specifically for people who have three stone or more to lose. Our approach combines the use of a very-low-calorie-diet (VLCD) in the form of nutritionally complete soups, shakes and bars, with specialised counselling techniques to help you to keep the weight off once you’ve lost it.

We understand that losing weight isn’t as easy as simply eating lettuce and joining an aerobics class, so we have developed a programme that looks at the real reasons why people overeat and offer a real solution with ongoing support and advice.

Many people who come to LighterLife do so after having tried all other types of diets and failed. They find that LighterLife really understands their issues and finally they are able to make the life-transforming changes they have always wanted to - and lose weight for good.

How the programme works
  • Before joining the programme your GP or practice nurse will need to complete a health questionnaire to make sure you are medically suitable

  • For the first 14 weeks for women and eight weeks for men you are likely to lose three stone. During this time you simply have four nutritionally complete LighterLife Foodpacks (soups, shakes and bars) a day, along with four litres of water (spread evenly throughout the day).

  • You will attend a weekly session with your LighterLife Counsellor, who will help you recognise and tackle the situations that may have led you to become overweight in the first place.

  • The sessions are held in same-sex groups of between seven and 12 people so you will find yourself with others who are in the same boat and will never have to go it alone. You may even make some new friends!

If you still have weight to lose after the initial weight-loss phase, you can continue to use LighterLife Foodpacks and go along to weekly sessions with your Counsellor, until you reach a healthier weight you’re happy with.

Managing your new, healthy weight
The single most important part of any weight-loss programme is weight management. The bottom line is, if you lose weight but then go back to your old lifestyle, the weight will go back on.

This is where our exclusive Management Programme comes in. Management is one of the key elements that makes LighterLife so different from other weight-loss programmes. It’s all about helping you to develop a balanced approach to eating, thinking and living, so you can enjoy your new, healthier weight far into the future.

Our Management Programme starts with a carefully structured reintroduction to conventional food and helps you to create a healthy eating plan that’s going to work for you. This is followed by expert weight-management tools and strategies – including our free Management website, free Management groups and ongoing free Counsellor support – to help you manage your weight more effectively than you ever have before.
