Weight management
The weight-management programme focuses on
establishing a healthier lifestyle, and empowers patients with
coping mechanisms developed in the weekly
group meetings
to support ongoing behaviour change.
The LighterLife Management Programme begins
with a structured and gradual reintroduction to a full range of
conventional food.
Reintroducing too much food too soon – and too
much carbohydrate in particular – after a period of ketosis can be
detrimental to health. Our reintroduction programme is therefore
designed to help bring patients slowly out of ketosis and to
stabilise their weight safely and effectively.
Once patients are maintaining their weight, a
range of resources is available to them, including:
- Continued free group meetings and regular
weight checks.
- A free book and internet resources. These
focus on healthy eating, physical activity and personal-development
work to reinforce the more helpful patterns of thinking and
behaving that patients have been developing.
- Meal replacements, supported by a balanced
eating plan, as a method of managing weight.
