Contraindications
If a patient has any of the conditions below
or is taking any of the medications listed below, they will be
unsuitable for LighterLife's weight-loss programmes.
- Some cardiac
conditions (including heart failure, arrhythmias, valve
disease, requiring treatment).
- Some cerebrovascular
conditions.
- Schizophrenia, delusional and bipolar
disorder, psychosis.
- Epilepsy or history of seizure.
- Kidney / liver disease (severe).
- Total lactose intolerance.
- Type 1 diabetes.
- Anorexia or bulimia or other eating disorder
undergoing or awaiting treatment.
- Porphyria.
- Taking prescribed anticoagulants, digoxin,
lithium or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
- Unstable angina.
- Major depressive disorder.
The above list is not exhaustive and some
aspects of a patient’s medical history may need further
clarification before suitability can be fully assessed.
