LighterLife Total

I’m excited, how do I start?

It's simple - book yourself on a free information session

The information session you attend depends on whether you’re eligible to join LighterLife Lite or the LighterLife Programme. All of these information sessions are held in small single-sex groups of people on a regular basis. They last about an hour and are friendly and informal – you’ll be made to feel very welcome.

When you arrive you’ll be weighed (discreetly) and have your height measured so I can confirm your Body Mass Index (BMI). You’ll also be asked to complete an information form and provide some personal details including name, address, telephone number, age and some specific medical information.

After watching a DVD which explains more about LighterLife you can ask any questions. What happens next depends on how much weight you have to lose…

LighterLife Total

BMI 30 and above

Your Counsellor will give you a health questionnaire to be completed by an appropriate healthcare professional. This is because the LighterLife Programme involves total abstinence from conventional food. Once your questionnaire is completed, approved and returned your Counsellor will book you into the next available group meeting which is where your weight loss journey really begins.

LighterLife Lite

BMI 25 – 29.9

If you have no relevant health issues your Counsellor will book you into a Lite joining session immediately. Once you’ve attended the LighterLife Lite joining session you’ll be ready to join your first weekly group meeting and get the support you need to live a healthier lighter life.
