Reintroducing food
Why is it important to reintroduce a full
range of conventional food (particularly carbohydrates) very slowly
after being on the LighterLife Programme or LighterLife
Lite?
When you’ve reached your weight-loss goal, we
advise that you follow a carefully structured, gradual
reintroduction to a full range of conventional food, designed to
help bring you slowly out of ketosis and stabilise your weight
safely and effectively.
You can do this in our Route to Management
groups.
It’s a system that’s been tried and tested
over many years, and it’s very important for two reasons.
Firstly, it enables you to gradually and
safely build up the number of meals you’re having and the levels of
carbohydrate in them, so you gradually come out of ketosis.
Reintroducing too much food too soon – and too much carbohydrate in
particular – can be detrimental to your health.
Secondly, by offering weekly group meetings,
Route to Management supports you and helps you continue to develop
more effective ways of managing your relationship with food, so you
are more likely to manage your weight successfully in the future –
and that’s what LighterLife is all about.
