Ketosis is a normal metabolic state
It occurs as a result of being on a low-energy,
low-carbohydrate diet such as LighterLife. Ketosis occurs when the
liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies which can be
used by the body for energy.
Is it anything to do with ketoacidosis?
Ketosis from normal ketone production, a result of being on a
low-energy, low-carbohydrate diet such as LighterLife, is nothing
to do with ketoacidosis.
Ketoacidosis is a potentially life-threatening condition most often
associated with uncontrolled insulin-deficient type 1 diabetes.
Ketoacidosis does not occur in people who have even a small
amount of insulin, whether from natural production or artificially
administered.
