Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

CBT is a practical and effective way of helping you deal with many of life’s problems. It’s used widely within the NHS.        

                                                    

The CBT techniques your Counsellor will show you can help you challenge your unhelpful thoughts and so reduce the likelihood of over-reacting, which can lead to overeating. CBT techniques can help you develop more realistic beliefs about yourself and others.

 

Transactional analysis (TA)

Transactional Analysis outlines the different ways we treat ourselves and how we relate and communicate with others.

 

It offers suggestions and techniques which can enable you to make positive changes. These ideas are helpful to explain why and when you may overeat. They can help give you new ways forward.
