What will my first weeks be like?
LighterLife Total involves a complete
break from conventional foods. Every day you can have four
LighterLife Total Balance Foodpacks.
Make sure you drink
enough water to feel comfortable. You may also have black
coffee or leaf tea with unlimited tablet sweeteners and two sachets
of LighterLife Savoury Broth. You can also use LighterLife Drink
Mixes. When mixed with your water they add fibre and come in
three flavours: Fruits of the Forest, St Clements and Sunrise
Orange.
Weekly group meetings led by your LighterLife
Weight-Management Counsellor are designed
to help you understand why you overeat and help you change your
behaviour. The sessions are held in single-sex groups of
between 4 and 12 people.

What will I eat?
Four Foodpacks a day provide
all the nutrition you need and only around 500-600 kcal, so you'll
lose weight fast. No calorie counting, no cooking, no fuss.
Tasty and easy to make up, they're ideal for busy lives, and
they're all suitable for vegetarians.
Four Foodpacks a day provide:
- Between 500-600 kcal.
- A minimum of 50g protein and 50g carbohydrate.
- At least 100% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of key
vitamins and minerals.
- An average of 15.9g of fat.
- 10-17g of fibre.

How can I live lighter?
When you achieve your weight-loss
goal, moving into Route to Management prepares you for
successfully managing your healthier weight for life. Route to
Management is a 12 week programme where you'll:
- Gradually reintroduce a full range of conventional
food.
- Learn about healthy, balanced eating.
- Practise dealing with stress, tricky situations and emotional
problems without relying on food.
- Have free access to the Management area of the LighterLife
website, which is packed with tips, advice and useful tools for
successful weight management.
At the end of the 12 weeks you’ll have taken
the first steps towards creating healthy, sustainable ways of
managing your weight while eating conventional food.
When you've completed Phase One Management,
you automatically become a member of our Management programme. It
offers monthly group meetings. So you can continue to benefit
from the support of your LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellor
for as long as you need.

I’m excited, how do I start?
It's simple – book yourself on a free Initial
Consultation.
These sessions last about an hour and are friendly and
informal – you'll be made to feel very welcome, and they're an
ideal opportunity to find out why LighterLife can work for
you.
When you arrive you'll be weighed and have your height measured so
we can confirm your body mass index (BMI). You'll also be asked to
complete an information form and provide some personal details
including name, address, telephone number, age and some specific
medical information.
Your LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellor will also give you a
health questionnaire to be completed by an appropriate healthcare
professional. Once your questionnaire is completed, approved and
returned, your Weight-Management Counsellor can book you
into the next avaliable group meeting, which is where your
weight-loss journey really begins.

How can I rejoin LighterLife?
It doesn't matter if you’ve been away
from LighterLife for some time – it's easy
to rejoin one of our weight-loss groups.
Just contact your nearest LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellor
and restart your journey.

What can I expect at my weekly group meeting?
LighterLife weekly group meetings are friendly
and you’ll be made to feel very welcome. They’re single-sex and,
with no more than 12 people in a group, you’ll get plenty of
support, whether you’ve one stone to lose or more.
Each week you’ll be weighed to track your
progress, choose and pay for your Foodpacks and have a chance to
chat with other members of your group. Each week you'll also
take part in a group discussion designed to help you understand why
you overeat and develop ways to deal with stress and tricky
situations without turning to food – techniques you can use to
manage your weight, not just for a few weeks or months, but for
life.
Group meetings are an important part of your LighterLife
weight-loss journey, and it's important you feel able to speak
open and honestly. To create a supportive environment where you can
work towards achieving your best possible weight-loss, your group
is only open to new members in the first week of each four-week
module.
The weekly group meeting is an important part
of your LighterLife weight-loss journey, so we ask you to commit to
every session to make the most of the support and inspiration it
offers. It's an investment in you – one that's worth making.
