Frequently Asked Questions
What will I eat and drink?
You will have three Foodpacks a day
and a conventional meal. Your LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellor will explain what food
you can eat on LighterLife Lite. It's nothing complicated. You can
find the ingredients in any local supermarket.
Make sure you drink enough water to feel comfortable. You may
also have coffee or tea with tablet sweeteners and two sachets of
LighterLife Savoury Broth a day.
You can also use LighterLife Water Flavours. When mixed
with your water they add fibre and come in three flavours: Fruits
of the Forest, St Clements and Sunrise Orange.

Initial free consultation
One of the key reasons people recommend LighterLife is because
they value the group sessions. So that you don’t lose precious time
at your first group meeting, your Counsellor will ask you to attend
an initial free consultation to help you get started.
This means that before you join you’ll have a chance to:
- get your start-up pack
- learn practical issues about the programme
- have your photograph and your measurements taken

What can I expect at my weekly group meeting?
If your BMI is between 25 and 29.9, you can do as many
LighterLife Lite modules as you need to reach your healthy desired
weight.
LighterLife weekly group meetings are friendly
and you’ll be made to feel very welcome. They’re single-sex and,
with no more than 12 people in a group, you’ll get plenty of
support, whether you’ve one stone to lose or more.
You’ll be weighed discreetly and have your
measurements taken. You’ll choose your Foodpacks and have a chance
to chat with other members of your group. Even if you might feel
shy, do join in as it can be really inspiring to hear how other
people are staying motivated and focused to succeed.
On LighterLife Lite no one new will join your
group after week one of each module. This helps create an
environment where you feel supported and able to discuss things
honestly and openly.
Each week you’ll take part in a group
discussion designed to help you understand why you overeat. Once
you start to understand this, you’ll learn ways to deal with stress
and tricky situations without turning to food – techniques you can
use to manage your weight, not just for a few weeks or months but
for life.
The weekly group meeting is an important part
of your LighterLife weight-loss journey, so we ask you to commit to
every session. It might not always be easy to find the time but
we’re pretty sure it’s an investment you won’t regret.

I’ve reached my target weight, now what?
Once you’ve reached your desired healthy weight you will be
offered a place on the Management Programme the following
week. The Management Programme for LighterLife Lite
clients begins with a four week module, Phase One
Management.
This module helps you return to a full range of
conventional food over 28 days.
Once you’ve completed Phase One Management, the LighterLife
Management Programme will support you in managing your weight loss
long-term. It offers monthly group meetings which means you can
continue to benefit from the support of your LighterLife
Weight-Loss Counsellor.
You will also have free access to the Management area of the
LighterLife website, which is packed with tips, advice and useful
tools for successful weight management.

I’m excited, how do I start?
It's simple - book yourself on a free initial consultation.
These friendly and informal sessions last up to an hour
and you’ll be able to ask any questions you may have. Find the
LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellor for your area (use the
postcode look-up in the orange box on the left) and
book your free initial consultation.
At the session the LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellor
will weigh you and check your BMI, and explain just how fast, safe,
simple and sustainable LighterLife is. They'll also show
you other men and women who've successfully lost weight and
transformed their lives.
If you do decide to join a LighterLife group, you’ll need to
complete the
medical form.
Once your application has been approved, and prior to
joining your LighterLife group, you’ll be invited to attend a
joining session where your LighterLife Weight-Management
Counsellor will give you all the information you need. You may even
be able to start LighterLife straight away.

How can I rejoin?
It doesn't matter if you’ve been away from LighterLife Lite.
It’s easy to rejoin.
Coming back to LighterLife Lite is an opportunity to look at
what might not have worked for you in the past and to explore how
to avoid making the same mistakes in the future. You can join the
group at the next appropriate module.
Contact your nearest LighterLife Weight-Management Counsellor to
find out when the next module begins.

What materials will I get?
In week one you will get:
- My Journey book
- Module book, then a new module book at the start of each
module
- Shaker for mixing Foodpacks
- Bag (women) or rucksack (men)
You will receive a pedometer for counting how
many steps you walk a day by week 8.
