LighterLife & Pauline Quirke
Pauline Quirke's LighterLife weight loss
If you need weight loss inspiration you'll certainly find it in Pauline Quirke's story. She vowed to start dieting after experiencing health issues and embarassment about her weight. She recalls: "I was the size of a sumo and putting my health at risk, I HAD to lose weight!"
Pauline credits the LighterLife programme for her weight loss success. She acknowledges that dieting can sometimes get you down, but says that LighterLife is different.
Pauline says: "I visualised what I wanted from losing weight. First, it was to be healthier and feel better, and then wearing jeans and T-shirts became my thing. I know the whole world starts their diet in January and most of us stop it by March, but I was determined to do it."Read more...
Linda Robson's LighterLife weight loss
Linda Robson shot to fame in the early '90s starring opposite friend and fellow LighterLife success story, Pauline Quirke, in the BBC sitcom Birds of a Feather.
With three children and a busy acting career Linda is also a real foodie. But like so many of us, Linda has found controlling her weight a challenge, and over the years as the weight crept on she realised she was the heaviest she'd ever been and need to make some changes.
The start of Linda's LighterLife journey began when the Birds of a Feather sisters were reunited on TV's This Morning, when Pauline was being interviewed about her amazing weight loss.Read more...
Psychologies magazine and us
LighterLife & Psychologies magazine join up
At LighterLife, the key to managing weight long term is learning to think differently about food, because it’s by changing your mind-set that you’re able to change your behaviour – including how you eat and drink.
Monthly women’s magazine, Psychologies agree with this pioneering approach and to show their support they have featured us in this month’s edition.
The feature includes a quote from LighterLife psychotherapist, Mandy Cassidy:Read more...
“Too often, many of us are looking for that magical quick fix which is going to leave us looking and feeling great. While we might achieve short-term success, it’s all too easy to slip back into old habits. This is because we often neglect to tackle the reasons behind our food choices. It comes down to how we value ourselves.”
