"Despite trying to stay healthy as much as I can, I’ve always fallen back into the yo-yo dieting habit. I knew I needed to break the cycle if I wanted to improve my health and energy levels ahead of all the projects I have coming up.

I knew a standard diet alone wouldn’t be the answer, as I had tried so many but the success never lasted. I needed something which not only changed my weight physically, but also would support me through changing my mindset and, ultimately, my relationship with food.

The LighterLife Total plan was exactly what I needed. At first, I found it tough. You’ve got to bear in mind that not only are you consuming just the four Foodpacks, meaning your body is adjusting to the reduction in calories and carbohydrates and to burning its stored fat for energy instead (a process called ketosis), but you’re also tackling your relationship with food on an emotional level, so it’s a big change. But, with the determination and discipline from my group counsellor, and the support of the cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques and skills you learn in group to keep you going, I’ve come out the other side a new person.

I've got so much more energy

The biggest change I’ve noticed (besides losing weight) is the increase in my stamina when I’m on stage, which is just amazing. I used to only do shows for just over an hour, but now I perform for more than double that because I have so much more energy, and it also helps with early airport starts and all day photoshoots!

In my profession there is a lot of pressure to look good. I always felt that I needed to look good when I was busy, which in turn meant I was more relaxed and able to eat freely when I had some spare time. I wanted to share my story in the public eye because so many people go through this and if they see me being honest about it they may realise they can do it, too.

The most valuable skill I’ve picked up from LighterLife is mental discipline. LighterLife gave me the option to not follow the voices in my head telling me to eat when I wasn't even hungry – you can just have a Foodpack as opposed to doing the usual. For me, understanding that has been a game changer. It’s shown me that I don’t have to give into urges – there is another way.
